Dairy Development

The main objectives of dairy development are: to improve the profits of milk committees and to boost up new opportunities of self-employment.

With these objectives in mind, it is proposed that an outlay of Rs. 299.70 lacs will be earmarked for the development of this sector. To protect and preserve the milk gained from the milk committees in remote rural areas and to maintain its quality, collective milk collection/preservation centers will be formed under this Yojana. Apart from it emphasis will be put on important components of dairy development like transportation facilities, formation and survey of milk societies, farmers and milk societies, secretaries training etc. Further essential infrastructure facilities like

cold steel tanker for milk storage, electric fat/cream machine, lab room with equipment, plastic box ghee packing machine and so on will be made available at the milk collection/preservation centers. It’s our estimate/prediction that at the end of three years, these committees formed and collective units established under this yojana will be self-relianced. The economic condition of concerned population of about 600 villages will be improved and there will be new avenues of self-employment.
