It is proposed that under the Rashtriya Sum Vikas Yojana major emphasis will be given to sectors like Horticulture and Agriculture. To facilitate the procurement and marketing of the produce of the farmers, it is proposed to strengthen the cooperative marketing societies, especially fruits and vegetables cooperatives.
For this purpose total outlay of Rs. 30.00 lacs will be earmarked for development of cooperative marketing sector. The amount will be utilized by three fruits and vegetables societies namely Chamba Phal Vipnan Sahakri Samiti Ltd., Jaunpur Magara sahakri Kraya Vikraya Samiti Ltd. and Pratap Nagar Pholodhyan Sahakri Kraya Vikray Samiti Ltd. in providing storage/ godown, grading and packing and marketing facilities to the local fruits and vegetable growers.
